The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. (Psalm 9:9-10)
The word refuge means secure height something inaccessibly high. In the Old Testament, we read about David who experienced many oppression but he chose to trust in Lord who will be a refuge to him. He praised God which brought him out from the gates of death to gates of life. David was determined to spoke about the goodness of God to people who had no relationship with Him. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, He never abandons anyone who entered into His blood covenant by faith in His crucifixion, His death, His burial, His resurrection and ascension. In times of sorrow, we are to praise Jesus for things He has done for us that is how we can rejoice in our salvation. For we are fully convinced that Jesus is mighty to save us and our expectation to be honored in life will be fulfilled by Him. As Mike Murdock, a leading preacher states “expectation is acting as if our miracle has already happened. Organize our life around your expected miracle. Plan it. Talk it. Believe it. Expectation qualifies us for receivership. It separates you. It transfers you from the masses who need miracles...to the chosen who receive them. Expectation is proof of faith.” Let us continue in this faith as we daily live our life looking unto Jesus!
