Names Of Jesus

1. Jesus is the Greek equivalent of the Old Testament Jewish name Joshua, which means “Jehovah saves.” There were two Joshuas in the Old Testament. The first Joshua led the children of Israel from the wilderness into the Promised Land. He was a prototype of Jesus—a savior, a rescuer, a deliverer. Jesus came not only to save us from the guilt and penalty of our sin, but also to take away our love for sin. Our Joshua—Jesus—fights our battles. He has conquered every enemy, including death, and He enables us to be victorious over temptation and sin. Our Joshua leads us into the spiritual inheritance that God has promised us, far surpassing the work of that first Joshua. The other Old Testament Joshua was a high priest. God told the prophet Zechariah to make a crown of silver and gold and set it on the head of this Joshua (Zech. 6:11). God’s instruction was a sign of royalty. Before this, the roles of king and priest had always been separate. Here, however, they are symbolically combined in one person. This is a wonderful picture of our Jesus, who is both King and Priest. This name is what gives us access to God’s greatest treasures. Of course, we know that the power is not in the name itself but in the Person who bears that name.

2. "I saw Jesus over His lifetime and so many things that grieved His dear heart.
*As I "relived" life with Him, I saw the public scorn and sorrow when His family didn't understand.
*I observed disappointments, deep sadness, and desolate loneliness.
*I heard the ugly crowds.
*I realized His pain at rejection by Israel.
*I saw the disciples fear and desertion and the cowardly hypocrite's kiss from Judas.
*I wept over His struggle at Gethsemane—pre-living the pain—and then the actual suffering and awful separation from the Father that came at Calvary.
And then I read the words, "for the joy set before Him" (Heb. 12:2). Jesus endured it all, embraced it all. Jesus will look at those He has Redeemed and, though He may remember all the pain, we will make Him glad. With grateful hearts we will praise Him for all eternity."

3. "The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation" (Rev. 3:14). Jesus is the Amen, which means that He is constant and unchanging. This name fits Him perfectly. In fact, in its truest sense, it couldn't apply to anyone else. He's the one who searches and inspects hearts. He knows the truth—He knows our true condition. He is about to tell the Laodicean church the truth about their condition, which is quite different from their perception of themselves. He is the Amen, the faithful and true witness. That means His words are trustworthy, and all His promises are true. Whatever you may be going through, in every season and circumstance of life, you can cling to Him and count on Him. Jesus is the guarantee of God’s promises. Hebrews 1:1–2 says, "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son." There is nothing else left to say. Our beloved Lord Jesus is God’s final word, the Amen. Believe Him, obey Him, heed Him, "for all the promises of God find their Yes (Amen) in Him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory" (2 Corinthians. 1:20).

4. First of all, as we study these wonderful names of Jesus, we want to learn more about Jesus, about who He is. The more we know Jesus will lead us to greater worship and adoration, admiration, and gratitude for who He is and what He means to us. As we behold the Savior, something amazing happens. Do you know what it is? We become more like Him. a. They reveal His splendor, His majesty, His exaltation. b. Some of His names also reveal His humanity and His humiliation. c. His names tell us why He came. d. His names tell us about His work and His ministry on our behalf.

5. Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus (Luke 1). Jesus’ name was chosen by His heavenly Father. He didn’t start to be when He was born in Bethlehem. Jesus existed eternally in heaven as the Son of God. At the end of the Old Testament, people were in sin. And then there’s four hundred years of silence. People are just lost in their sin, and then we come to the New Testament.. The name Jesus itself that very name is found over a thousand times in the New Testament. The whole Scripture is all about Jesus. He’s about to change everything. We’ve got to get to Jesus. That’s where we find all that we need.
There is life in His name.
There is forgiveness in His name.
There is peace in His name.
There is grace in His name.
There is wholeness in His name.
There is healing in His name.

6. Scripture tells us that the Word, the Logos, Jesus, became a man it speaks of the humanity of Christ. “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” God’s mirror so that we could see what God looks like. He took on human flesh so that God could be revealed to mankind.

7. We could never have been redeemed if Jesus had not become a man. God had to become flesh, take on our humanity and our physical limitations. Jesus did that when He came to earth as the incarnate Son of God and became the Son of Man. And as a man, He obeyed God. He served God. He resisted temptation. He had human needs and characteristics. He knew what it was to be hungry, to be thirsty, to be physically weary, to need a nap. He knew what it was to be tempted, to weep, to grieve. All these aspects of humanness, Jesus shared with us. The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the sons of men might become sons of God. And don’t just “kiss the Son” yourself, but do what you can to tell others that they need to “kiss the Son,” that they can escape the wrath of God through believing in His Son. Now, you remember that the first time Jesus came to earth He came in humility, as the Suffering Servant. But at His Second Coming, when He returns to earth, He will come in power and in glory this time, not to save, but to judge the wicked and to reign forever.

8. As the Son of God, Jesus bears all of the divine nature. He has made the fullness of God’s glory known to us. The Father who had sent His Son, the owner of the vineyard, had the final word. We read in Romans chapter 1 that “Jesus was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by His resurrection from the dead” (v. 4). He didn’t stay dead. He was declared to be the eternal Son of the Father by His resurrection from the dead. At His resurrection, the Son was given the kingdoms of the world as His inheritance, Psalm 2 tells us. And by His obedient life and His death on the cross for the nations, Jesus won the right to rule over the nations. He won the right to judge and destroy those who rebel against Him. And, thank God, He also won through His obedient life and His death on the cross the right to save those who repent of their sins and believe on Him.

9. “Immanuel.” Now that name for Jesus, Immanuel, comes from two Hebrew words “God” and “with us.” Jesus is the “with us God.” He is God with us. First we know that this baby born in Bethlehem was God. Jesus is God—God with us. This is God coming to earth in human flesh, and that’s what we celebrate at the incarnation of Jesus. He came to earth. God came to earth in the form of this baby named Jesus. Whatever is going on, whatever your fears, whatever your circumstances, don’t be afraid. God is with you. God will be with you. God is going with you.

10. That is His name: Wonderful Counselor. This word, Wonderful, in the Scripture, is used only of God, never of man. He is the Wonderful Counselor. Why? One reason is that He knows people. Jesus has insight into the human heart. He knows all about us, how we’re wired, how we’re motivated. Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves. He’s a Wonderful Counselor because He’s able to understand our needs. He’s a Wonderful Counselor because He knows how to help us. He knows exactly what you need. He knows how to give tailor-made grace and counsel to each situation. He has all wisdom. He is God; He knows everything. He knows whether we need encouragement or rebuke or reproof or practical instruction.

11. Now let’s look at that title “Mighty God.” In the Hebrew, it’s El Gibbor. G-i-b-b-o-r. El the masculine noun for God—El Shaddai, El Gibbor, El God—that name for God emphasizes His strength, His power, His might. And it’s amazing that this child who would be born would be God—El Gibbor—Jesus is God. You will never be saved from your sin if you do not believe that Jesus is God—the Son of God and God the Son—El Gibbor. El Gibbor. Jesus is the God who conquers, the God who prevails.El Gibbor, the Mighty God, He has the power to carry out all His wise plans. He has all the strength that is needed to intervene, to redeem, to deliver, to save.

Bible Study Tips

Why Should I Study the Bible?
The Bible is no ordinary book. The words within its pages are like medicine to your soul. It has the power to change your life because there is life in the Word! (See Hebrews 4:12.) And when you discover the power and truth of God’s Word, you will begin to see changes in your life that only this truth can bring. You will even learn how to recognize what the enemy tries to bring against you. The good news is, it won’t take you 30 years to know what you need to know. Just begin where you are right now and determine to stick with it! Every time you study the Bible and pay attention to what you’re reading, you’re learning something. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son attend to my words…for they are life to those who find them…” The word “attend” means to pay attention to, give some time to something. To attend to the Word of God is a lot more than just reading; it’s meditating on it. We need to get into agreement with what God wants us to do because, as the writer of Proverbs says, these words are life! When you need an encouraging word, or you’re in a negative environment, it’s good to know that you can find life (plus healing and health) in God’s Word.

What Do I Study?
There’s really no wrong place to start.  You can study anything that’s going to help you. If you’re dealing with anger or fear, flip to the back of your Bible’s concordance and locate those words to see which scriptures talk about those things. If you can’t think of anything right away, thumb through the concordance in the back of your Bible and pick one of the words. Begin looking at all scriptures referenced with this word and read them. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you, and He’ll lead you and reveal things to you. When I first started studying the Word, I didn’t have very good relationships. I didn’t really understand what love was. As I studied the subject of love, I learned that it’s more than a gooey feeling. It’s a decision on how you’re supposed to trust people. I didn’t know how to love people, or myself. By studying what the Bible says about love, I learned how to love. Then my life began to change. Being able to apply what you study to your life, like I did on the subject of love, is just one picture of what studying the Bible looks like.  Hopefully you understand why you should study with some ideas on what to study.

Four Effective Steps to Studying the Bible
1. Purposely set aside time. I make an appointment with God in the mornings, but if that doesn’t work for you, find a time that does…even if it’s not every day. Whatever you can do, that’s what you need to do. Just start somewhere and you’ll see the fruit that this time brings to your life!
2. Make preparation for your Bible study. Have a place that you enjoy being—a room in your house where you can be alone. Somewhere you are comfortable and like to be.
3. Have all your materials available. You’ll want of course your Bible, but also get a good Bible dictionary, concordance, a pen and paper. That way, you don’t have to stop every few minutes to reference something or write something down.
4. Prepare your heart. Talk to God about things you may need to confess, and enter your study time peacefully and without anything that may block you from receiving revelation during your study.
Make the time in your life to study because there is power in it to change your life and become the person God wants you to be. Once you do, you’ll experience the peace and joy to enjoy every day of your life!

Verse Mapping
Ask God to share with you a verse He would like you to focus on for the day. You can find one in a variety of ways.

Bible Study: Use whatever verse provided in your Bible study.
Bible Cracking: Close your Bible, open it to a random page, and point to a verse.
Concordance {Index}: In the back of your Bible, look up a specific word or topic that God is laying on your heart. Perhaps you’ve been struggling with patience, anger, faith, trust, unkind words, etc. Look up the Bible references pertaining to that topic and choose that verse. If your Bible does not have a Concordance or Index, visit BibleGateway and you can do a word search with any translation.
Ask a Friend: Ask someone whom you know to be close with God, perhaps your spouse, sibling, or even one of your children. See if they have a verse to recommend for you.
Devotion: Perhaps in the devotion you read in the morning, a verse jumps out at you, use it for the day!

With that verse, you can do verse mapping….
1. Personalize it…cross out words like “you”, “we”, “whoever”, “them” and write your name above it.
2. Highlight parts that jump out at you.
3. Read the verse in context – the whole chapter or passage.
4. Read the verse in at least two other translations. Note on the card words or phrases from other translations that help you understand or apply the verse.  If you don’t have other translations laying around the house a couple of good resources for several translations are BibleGateway and YouVersion.
5. Find cross references and note anything brings new meaning. Cross references are verses that have similar words or phrases. My Bible has them listed in the center column.  Other’s have them in footnotes at the bottom. Bible Gateway and YouVersion both can help you find some.
6. Circle a word or two and do a word study on it.
● Look up the word in your dictionary and see if the definition gives you any insight.
● Use a topical index and/or concordance in the back of your Bible to find other verses where the word appears.
● Look up synonyms (same meaning) and antonyms (opposite meaning) in a concordance or online Bible tools site to find other verses.
Write a little prayer sharing with God what you’ve learned.

Bible Study Tips
1. Are you studying the Bible or just reading it? God doesn’t want us to just comprehend His Word…He wants us to meditate on it. Make regular time for God. Remember: you don't have to go far to find Him. Just close your eyes for a moment, and in the quietness of your own heart you will discover Him. His Holy Spirit is always there, waiting for you. Don't leave Him alone without any attention from you. Make Him glad that He is living in you. Make Him feel welcome and at home. Make Him comfortable. Share everything with Him, because He has come to share everything with you. 1b. Have you had your spiritual meal today? Just as our physical body must be fed, our spirit man must also be fed. But somehow we seem to think we can have a great relationship with God without feeding ourselves with His Word and filling ourselves with His presence. I pray this challenge is helping bring you closer to Him and bringing you the spiritual nourishment you crave.

2a. Reading/studying the Bible and praying is the best way to start the day. As the day goes on, I can reflect on what I read and see God using it to help me or using me to help others with what I have learned. 2b. I think it is interesting that to meditate means to spend time in quiet thought for religious purposes or relaxation, because when I spend time in His word and meditate on it throughout the day, I can relax, knowing He is in control, that He loves me, that He has a good plan for me, all things that help me to take a deep breath and relax.

3. When you spend time with God, everybody else knows it. You become calmer, you're easier to get along with, and you don't lose control of your emotions as quickly. Your patience increases, and your heart soon understands what God likes and what offends Him. As with any friend, the more time you spend with God, the more like Him you become.

4. If you are diligent to seek God, you will know Him in a deeper, more intimate way. God will reveal Himself to you; He will be found of you. When God wants to manifest Himself, He will, so don't get frustrated trying to find God. Just learn to wait on Him and pray, "God, reveal Yourself to me. Manifest Your presence to me."

5. Before you hear, read or study the word make a decision that with God’s help you will do what the word says to do or not to do. Think about what you are studying – go over it several times! Think about how what you are studying applies to you.

6. Studying the Word of God is just one way we express our obedience to God.

7. When we study the Word, inevitably we find the Spirit leading us in a particular direction. This teaching guide will help you learn to follow the Spirit’s lead toward a life of greater joy and satisfaction.

8. If one thing stands out to you, or you are quickened in your heart that you really need more in that area, look up other scriptures on the same subject.

9. Studying the Word of God is just one way we express our obedience to God.

10. Fight the good fight of faith with the Word. For example, if you are worried look up and meditate on scriptures that tell us not to worry.

11. “I had set out with a set of questions I was praying God would answer during this time, but through this month, he taught me to let my agenda go and just learn to rest in Him. Let Him have control. So, while I don’t have specific answers to the questions I had, I have an even better answer: knowing that God is good, God is in control, and His plan is way better than my own. As I continue to spend time with Him, He will reveal things to me when the time is right. He is so good!” -  Erin

12. Just as our physical bodies must be fed, our spirit man must also be fed. But somehow we seem to think we can have a great relationship with God without feeding ourselves with His Word and filling ourselves with His presence. Keep making regular time for God and let Him fill you with His strength and power. - Joyce

13. The one thing that is needed to study the word of God is time! If you are willing to put time into it and be diligent to be committed to keep at it, you will know truth and truth will make you free!

14. “Make the same commitment I did years ago: to devote yourself to hearing from God every day! More than anything else, I want to clearly hear God's voice and be aware of His abiding presence all the time. I know what God has called me to do, and I know that I cannot do it without knowing God is with me. I am desperate for the manifest presence of God in my life.” - Joyce

The Lord's Supper

1. We need to take deeper look at what communion really is. If we eat His flesh and drink His blood we can have true life, eternal life, in them. We will not die but live forever (John 6). Jesus speaks very strongly about the necessity of eating and drinking His flesh and blood. This is an indication of how deeply the believer partakes of Jesus Himself. We partake of everything He is, has and does.

2. The bread that we partake of in the sacrament represents the incarnation of the Bread of Life. The incarnation was God Himself, in Jesus, taking on a fleshy body and offering His body in sacrifice for them. The cup or the wine represents the shedding of Jesus' blood as the means of God's establishing a new covenant with His people. Our observance of this sacrament forever reminds us in a personal way of the price paid for our salvation.

3. Our celebration of communion points ahead to the great supper in Heaven. It reminds us of the covenant that God has made with us through the blood of Jesus that was shed at the Calvary. At the same time we can partake of covenant blessings.

4. When we receive and "eat" Jesus through participation in Him we share in Him deeply and intimately and so we become a part of Him. He is in us and we are in Him. When we eat of Him, we are given life, health, strength and joy. His life is imparted to us (John 6:55).

5. We are placed in this grace through God had done for us in Christ. He has forgiven us. He has acquitted and pardoned us. Through forgiveness of sin we have peace with God and have fellowship with God. This is because Jesus took all the sins of mankind upon Himself on the Cross. Grace does not stop at forgiveness. Grace is power from above, which we can live on daily and which sanctifies and changes us. Grace comes to us in several ways. This is why Communion is one of the "means of grace" that is means that convey grace to those who will receive by faith.

6. When we break bread, we come in direct contact with the body and blood of Christ in an intimate and special way which is why we have to approach it in the right manner. Jesus presence is there. If we believe, we participate in it and receive blessing. Communion has a real function in conveying forgiveness, cleansing, restoration and strength to us it is easy to see this if we realised Jesus' real presence. Then it becomes weapon on God's hands helping us to live godly and holy lives.

7. Communion is essentially a proclamation. The words proclaimed about Jesus atoning death and the content of communion. By virtue of the words of institution, Communion is no longer a just another meal, but the Spirit of God works with these words. Jesus Christ is present in Communion. At the Creation, the Lord sent His Word and created and by His Word He is also present in Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-28).

8. As in 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, The bread that is broken is the body of Christ, which was broken when He died for us on the cross. We are one body as long as we partake of this one bread, His body. The bread speaks of true unity in the body of Christ and it was for this unity that Jesus died for us. In John 17:21, Jesus did not pray for inward unity but for an outwardly visible unity. Tremendous strength of unity pulls down satan's strongholds.

9. Remember what Jesus have done in atoning death. Remind ourself, meditating on, taking hold of and believing and proclaiming everything He did for us through His death. He took up our infirmities, carried our sorrow, punishment that brought us was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed. The flow of life from the cross that brings forgiveness also brings us healing and restoration when we come to Him and receive Him in Communion (Hebrews 4:16).

10. The kingdom became a reality for the disciples at the cross. When we take part in the Lord's Supper, we have the assurance of His promise that He is present with us. Realize that He is at the table with you. You will hear Him saying, "It gives Me pleasure to fellowship with you. Is there anything you need? Is there anything I can help with you?". When you approach in this intimate manner,  that He desired to share this time with you but it will be a present day manifestation of communion with God and expereience of His power - the power of the blood. Therefore, when you go to communion remeber what God has done to wash your sins away, redeem you, heal you and give you joy on the earth. Every blessing we enjoy is through the blood of the Lamb (Mathew 26:29; Luke 22:15).

Shed Blood Of Jesus Christ

1. Blood we have today is not the same we have today is not the same blood God originally gave humanity. When mankind rebelled against God, its nature became corrupt and its blood became tainted. But by Adam's sin, his introduced death into the human life. Since the Life is the Blood (Leviticus 3:17; 17:11) and wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), sin affected blood of Adam and caused him to die. Blood of all men partakes of the sin of Adam, it can be cleansed by the application of sinless Blood of Jesus Christ. - Baxter, Whyte & DeHaan

2. For it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul (Leviticus 17:11). Atone signifies that as result of Jesus's actions we are reconciled to or at one with our Heavenly Father. The blood of Christ alone is sufficient to fully atone for sin. Jesus had no need to offer sacrifice for His sins, because He was our sinless Sin-bearer. The sacrifice He made of His own blood was presented by Him in the heavenly Holy of Holies, a sacrifice that never needs to be repeated. - Baxter

3. The cross is the centrepiece of God's eternal plan of redemption. Our heavenly Father not only foresaw Calvary, but He also arranged it. Jesus offered His very life, the ultimate supreme sacrifice. Christ's blood represents the perfect and completed sacrifice of Himself, which was offered for the sins of the world. His blood completely satisified that demand and effectively put awy the sin. - Baxter

4. Abel's blood rightfully cried out for retribution. His blood speaks of better things mercy, forgiveness and reconciliation. His blood pleads louder for you in heaven than all your sins can plead against you on earth. - Baxter

5. The blood of Jesus is also the "blood of sprinkling". This means that Jesus' blood is applied-applied to our hearts and lives, bringing forgiveness, peace and deliverance. The blood of Jesus Christ was poured out because only through it could we receive life. - Baxter

6. The covenant that God has with us is sealed by the blood of Jesus. Because of His blood we receive all the promises of this new covenant. The new covenant does not cover sin. It actually cleanses our consciences and frees us to live for God in peace and joy. Jesus our High Priest is fully qualified to fulfill His roles as Mediator and Intercessor. We have an accuser, who constantly opposes us and brings charges against us before th Father. Christ is our Advocate. - Baxter

7. In eastern lands during Bible times, it was customary for the groom to pay a price to the family of the bride for the privilege of marrying her. The truth is revealed here is that Christ paid the price for His bride, the church and the price was His own precious blood. As our Head provides wisdom and direction as the body carries out His work. Christ's blood gives life to His body. The church conveys a message of love and body conveys message of life. Bible Verses: Ephesians 5:25; Colossains 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12 & Matthew 19:5.

8. Pleading the blood means to invoke what Christ done on the cross over particular person or situation. A blood covering is provided through faith in God, prayer and belief in the covenant of God. We acknowledge and testify to the overpowering power of the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf. God will look down from heaven will watch over and protect us. Demons flee at the blood of the Lamb. When we have memory of past sins, know God has forgiven us through Christ's sacrifice and His blood. - Baxter

9. Only Jesus' blood can redeem us. When Jesus sacrificed His life, there was agonizing pain. He had to carry the weight of the whole world on His shoulders, but He was willing to do it in order to save us from eternal separation from God. Jesus cover all your sins. The guilt is removed. We are justified by His blood. We have peace with God. We are sanctified through the blood of Jesus. This means we are made holy before God. Through Jesus blood those who believe in Him will survive death itself, they will live eternally with God. God is faithful to forgive you and cleanse you completely. He will give you the gift of His Holy Spirit, who will live within you and enable you to obey and serve God. You will become a part of God's own family and His angels will watch over you. - Baxter

10. Jesus' stripes - those powerful stripes that He took for our healing - His power is as real today as it ever was. By the power of the blood of Jesus, the demons loose people and let them go. Confess, "By the life and power of the blood of Christ Jesus, I take dominion over you, defeated satan. In the name of the Jesus Christ, you are going to loose me and let me go. By the blood of the Lamb that He shed to deliver us from the power of the enemy, I claim healing." When we speak the authority of the blood of Jesus Christ and actuate the power of the covenant of God, a battle will go on in the heavens and on the earth. The enemy cannot stand when you boldly proclaim the Word of God. Know that demons will flee and diseases will be healed. - Baxter

11. Blood of Jesus gives you the ability and power to overcome temptations. With the temptations of this world, we are susceptible to wandering, even sliding away from, the commitment we have made to Christ. That is why we need a daily cleansing in His blood. When we commit to being transformed into the image of Christ, we are fulfilling much of the purpose of the redeeming blood of Jesus.

12. When Jesus died on Calvary, He opened up for us the fountain of His blood. With that blood, we overcome the powers of darkness - the devil and entire spiritual underworld. Satan had no idea that the death of Christ would bring his defeat (1 Corinthains 2:7-8). Satan and his demons failed utterly at Calvary, they lost their claim on our souls. The blood of Jesus is an eternal reminder to them of their failed mission. They are now powerless over the souls of believers because of the blood of Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:15).

God's Word In Our Hearts

1. The very life and power of God is found in His Word. Through the Word, His tender love will receive us into intimated fellowship with Himself. From the Word, His love will give us what is needed for our weakness (1 Peter 2:2).

2. The heart is the temple of God. In the temple there was an outer court and an inner sanctuary. The outer court is understanding. It is kept in memory and reflection. From the court there is entrance into the innermost sanctuary and the door is faith. What I believe, that I will receive into my heart. Where this take place, there the heart becomes the sanctuary of God.

Written By Andrew Murray
3. Learn the words of God by heart. Repeat them to yourself in the course of the day. The Word is seed, and the seed must have time, must be kept in the ground. Likewise, the Word must be carried in the heart. Give the best powers of your heart, your love, your desire, the willing and joyful activity of your will, to God's Word. - Andrew Murray

4. Once person is born again, God is not finished with him. After the new birth, the individual is turned over to the Holy Spirit for transformation. The tool of the Holy Spirit uses to bring about this transformation is the Word of God. When mind is renewed, one area of sol has been saved. The Holy Spirit relentlessly works to bring the whole man into God's perfect will. Enemy hates and fears the Word of God because this knowledge will cause us to become more determined than ever to make the Word of God a priority on our lives.

5. The Word Of God is the believer's sword and he must learn to apply it accurately. According to the Scriptures, satan seeks to build strongholds in our minds. Strongholds are lies that are believed. A person who believes a lie is deceived. When an individual believes that wrong is right, he has fallen into deception. Satan works through deception but the knowledge of the Word is the believer's defense and victory. The Word of God is the believer’s sword, and he must learn to apply it accurately. Holy Spirit helps us.

6. A person who learns to abide in the Word and let the Word abide in Him will have power in prayer. When an individual has power in prayer, he has power over the enemy (John 15:7)

7. We have authority as believers to bring heaven's will to earth by acting in partnership with God. He is heaven, and we are on earth. Because His Spirit in us and because we have His Word, we can know what His will is. We have authority on earth to bring heaven's will into action. What God binds or looses in heaven what He allows or disallows that and only that we can allow or disallow here in the earth.

8. Everyday you should speak the Word, pray the Word, love the Word and honor the Word. The Word of God is the two edged sword that is your weapon of offense with which you are able to defend yourself. If you keep your sword drawn, the enemy won't be quick to approach you.

Written By Joyce Meyer

9. Deeper the respect for the Word of God, deeper His presence will function among us. We should give the Word of God first place in our life. Let it be your final authority. We live by every Word of God (Matthew 4:1-4).  For us to stand, believe, use and live by the Word of God.

10. You first hear the voice of God from the Word of God, and then you develop hearing from God on the inside. Honour the Word of God, put as much Word of God when the need arises, the Word of God will rise up in you (Job 23:11 & 12). Repetition of Word of God should not bother you, otherwise it will knock out new truth.

11. Luke 10:38, Like Mary let us give the Word of God first place in our life. Let us prayer, "Father, I chose Your Word. I will feed on it daily. I respect Your Word. I am hungry and thirsty for Your Word. In Jesus Name."

12. Proverbs 4:20-23, There is life in the Word of God. There is transforming life in the Word of God. Life to those who keep searching. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:4). Word of God nourishes, builds and strengthens just like natural food. God's word get back what is lost. Word of God is medicine to your flesh. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63). Every Word of God contains life of God Himself. Spirit makes alive. When you apply word to our life, it makes alive. Hebrews 4:12, Word of God is powerful. Divine energy comes from the Word it affects your inner man. Your inner man works its way outside. Isaiah 55:11, Speak Word of God with faith.

13. Word of God brings life. It is weapon to stop, prevent and destroy the works of devil. Speaking Word of God in faith. Jeremiah 23 and Mark 11, whatever mountain you are facing in your life . Word of God is like hammer which breaks great resistance. Word of God like fire, it burns up situations.

14. God's Word makes you strong. Stronger spirit easier to receive. As food for the body, Word of God has proper nutrients to develop your spirit. Stronger your spirit, easier it will be to resist sin. Also, when we stand in the Word not be moved anything. How do you know you are strong in the Word of God? Spiritual indicator is faith. When you faith in God is high, then that means your word intake is high.

15. Proverbs 6:24, Word of God will lead/guide you. When you put Word of God more into your hearts, it will talk to you. This will give you counsel. When you read Word of God, apply the Word of God you read daily b praying to God to help you.

16. We should give the Word of God first place. We do it by believing the Word of God even when our feelings and circumstances is against us. God wants us to take into higher degree of faith. Drawing back is not our way but our way is those who believe.

17. Meditate the Word is to ponder, to consider, to imagine, to read the scripture, to think and ponder the scripture. Muttering (saying under your breath) or Speak Word (confessing the Word out loudly).

All Have Access To Father Both Jews And Gentiles

Ruth 2: 2, 7
So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” And she said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.' So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house.”

Leviticus 19:10
‘And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 24:21
“When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow.
The field was allowed to be gleaned poor, stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, after owners have gathered from their vineyard. The vineyard belongs to Jews and Gentiles. In Jesus ministry, He offered salvation first to Jews and Gentiles.
Mathew 21:38-42
But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?” They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.” Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Ephesians 2:14-22
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
The "peace" here referred to is that by which a "union" in worship and in feeling has been produced between the Jews and the Gentiles Formerly they were alienated and separate. They had different objects of worship; different religious rites; different views and feelings. The Jews regarded the Gentiles with hatred, and the Gentiles the Jews with scorn. Now, says the apostle, they are at peace. They worship the same God. They have the same Saviour. They depend on the same atonement. They have the same hope. They look forward to the same heaven. They belong to the same redeemed family. Reconciliation has not only taken place with God, but with each other. "The best way to produce peace between alienated minds is to bring them to the same Saviour."
1 Peter 2:4-9
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion, A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Disallowed indeed of men; by the Jewish builders, high priests, Scribes, and Pharisees, and the body and bulk of that nation; who rejected him as the Messiah, and stone of Israel, refused him as a foundation stone, and left him out of the building; and laid another foundation, even their own works of righteousness, on which sandy foundation they built themselves, and directed others to do so likewise; and set him, made to nothing, as a living stone, would not come to him for life, but sought it in the law, the killing letter, and among their dead works; but though Christ was thus disallowed and disesteemed of by men, yet was he highly valued and esteemed by God: The purpose was not to speak of a temple, like that at Jerusalem, made up of gold and costly stones; but of a temple made up of living materials - of redeemed people - in which God now resides, as the soul is more precious than any materials of stone. Your identity and purpose should be based in Christ.

Origin Of Grace Gleanings

Ruth 1:8, 14, 15
Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her. Now they took wives of the women of Moab: the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each to her mother’s house. The Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me. And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.”

See Ruth's resolution, and her good affection to Naomi. Orpah was loth to part from her; yet she did not love her well enough to leave Moab for her sake. Thus, many have a value and affection for Christ, yet come short of salvation by him, because they will not forsake other things for him. They love him, yet leave him, because they do not love him enough, but love other things better. Ruth is an example of the grace of God, inclining the soul to choose the better part. Naomi could desire no more than the solemn declaration Ruth made.

Gleanings
Gleanings are things, especially facts that are gathered or collected from various sources rather than acquired as a whole.

When Providence had made her poor, she cheerfully stoops to her lot. High spirits will rather starve than stoop; not so Ruth. Nay, it is her own proposal. She speaks humbly in her expectation of leave to glean. Ruth also was an example of industry. She loved not to eat the bread of idleness. This is an example to young people. Diligence promises well, both for this world and the other. We must not be shy of any honest employment.

Boaz inquired concerning the stranger he saw, and ordered her to be well treated. Masters must take care, not only that they do no hurt themselves, but that they suffer not their servants and those under them to do wrong. Ruth humbly owned herself unworthy of favours, seeing she was born and brought up a heathen. It well becomes us all to think humbly of ourselves, esteeming others better than ourselves. And let us, in the kindness of Boaz to Ruth, note the kindness of the Lord Jesus Christ to poor sinners.

Grace Gleanings
It is a good question for us to ask ourselves every night, Where have I gleaned to-day? What improvement have I made in knowledge and grace? What have I done that will turn to a good account?
Ruth 2:8, 15, 16, 23
Then Boaz said to Ruth, “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women. And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her.  “Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her.” So she stayed close by the young women of Boaz, to glean until the end of barley harvest and wheat harvest; and she dwelt with her mother-in-law.

Ruth was pleased with what she gained by her own industry, and was careful to secure it. When the Lord deals bountifully with us, let us not be found in any other field, nor seeking for happiness and satisfaction in the creature. We lose Divine favors, if we slight them. Ruth dutifully observed her mother's directions. And when the harvest was ended, she kept her aged mother company at home. Ruth kept at home, and helped to maintain her mother, and went out on no other errand than to get provision.
